Welcome to HOF BB Players.com! Thank you for taking the time to visit. It is my hope that you will find tremendous value in the pages of this website and will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
The Hall of Fame with Joshua
My name is Mark Tully. I founded HOF BB Players.com as a way to share my love for the game of basketball with others, as a vehicle for looking at the rich and interesting history of the game, and for the enjoyment of both basketball fans and sports collectors. An added bonus in creating this site is the chance to share the learning, basketball related conversations, and events with my son Joshua.
Mark and Joshua at Team USA vs. Spain Exhibition Game in August of 2019
The journey so far has been great fun for me. One day I picked up a cool-looking Ralph Sampson autographed basketball card off of eBay and soon found myself collecting autographed cards of Hall of Fame basketball players. My goal is to collect as many of these hall of fame signatures as possible on basketball cards.
As of the class of 2024 there are 238 players that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. This includes NBA players, pre-NBA players, international, amateur, and women players. While the Hall of Fame also honors coaches, contributors, and referees, I have chosen to focus my website on the players recognized as the best to ever play the game of basketball.
At the present time 238 of the 238 player profiles have been completed on this site. In the player profiles I have included a brief overview, Awards and Honors, Points of Interest, and links to carefully selected videos highlighting each player. If Joshua and I have met a player at the Hall of Fame or some other event, I include photos of autographed cards and/or photos of us with the player. Each year, after the new Hall of Fame class has been announced, I will work on their profiles until all of them are completed.
Davidson College and Stephen Curry
2014-15 Panini Flawless Stephen Curry Now and Then
I graduated from Davidson College, where a pretty good young player named Stephen Curry led the Wildcats to within one shot of the Final Four in 2008 before losing to eventual champion Kansas. It has been exciting for my son and me (Curry is our favorite player) to follow the career of Stephen from his days at Davidson to winning his first NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015. With the addition of Kevin Durant, the Warriors notched back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018, creating a mini-dynasty in the process. Curry and the Warriors won the title again in 2022. (Update: my son still likes Steph, but his favorite player now is Jayson Tatum and he roots for the Celtics. That’s a little tough for a lifelong Lakers fan to stomach, but it’s all good!)
Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend Trips
I have been blessed to have attended the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement weekend three times with my son Joshua. We enjoyed our trips to Springfield, Massachusetts in 2021 (2020 Enshrinement), 2023, and 2024. Below I have shared a few pictures where Joshua and I had the opportunity to meet some of the greats of the game during these trips.
