Becky Hammon has had a storied basketball career which includes starring as a player and breaking barriers as a coach. An undrafted player out of Colorado State University, Becky battled her way onto the WNBA’s New York Liberty and never looked back. Hammon is considered one of the top players in WNBA history. After Becky’s playing career ended, she became an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs and later led the Las Vegas Aces to their first WNBA title in her first year at the helm.

Awards and Honors

  • Becky played college basketball for the Colorado State Rams from 1995-1999. While there she was a two-time All-American.

  • In 2011, Becky was named to the WNBA Top 15@15, which celebrated the top fifteen players in the first fifteen years of the league. Five years later she was honored as part of the WNBA Top 20@20 and then, in 2021 as part of the W25.
  • Hammon was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022.

Since Becky played for the Russian team CSKA Moscow during the offseason, she had dual citizenship, which made the opportunity available to her.
