Chris Mullin was a lefty who had a silky-smooth jumper and was a top-scorer in the NBA for years. He wore number 17 in honor of his boyhood hero, Hall of Famer John Havlicek. Known as the ultimate gym rat, Mullin spent hour upon hour practicing his craft and becoming one of the best shooters in NBA history.
Chris played the first twelve years of his career with the Golden State Warriors. Then he was traded to the Indiana Pacers where he played in the 2000 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Chris rejoined the Warriors for his final year in the league in 2000-01.
Awards and Honors
- Mullin went to St. John’s University and played under Hall of Fame coach Lou Carnesecca. At St. John’s he was a three-time Big East Player of the Year. Chris led St. John’s to the NCAA Final Four in 1985.
- In 1985, Mullin won the John Wooden Award which recognized him as the top college player in the nation.
- Mullin was a two-time Olympic gold medalist, first in Los Angeles in 1984 and then as a member of the Dream Team in Barcelona in 1992.
- Chris was a five-time NBA All-Star, playing in the game every year from 1989-1993.
- Mullin was named to the All-NBA First Team in 1991-92. He was also selected to the All-NBA Second Team twice and the All-NBA Third Team once during his career.

- Mullin was chosen by the Golden State Warriors with the number seven overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft.
- Chris teamed with Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond to form “Run TMC.” This Warriors trio played an up-tempo, high-scoring brand of basketball that the fans loved.
- In 1997-98, Chris led the NBA in free throw percentage at .939, making 154 out of 164 free throws.
- Chris finished his NBA career with averages of 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Known as a scorer, Mullin had five consecutive years (his All-Star years) where he averaged over 25 points per game.
- Mullin was one of the greatest players to don a Golden State Warriors uniform. He joined such franchise greats as Wilt Chamberlain, Rick Barry, Joe Fulks, Paul Arizin, and Nate Thurmond in the Warriors Hall of Fame.
